Footscray City Primary School is a dual stream school which offers rich opportunities for all of its students through both Mainstream and Steiner programs. The organisation of classes is based on a multi-age developmental model, which encourages and enhances individual achievement and social development. During 2010 Footscray City Primary School continued to focus on whole school curriculum development aligned with the Victorian Essential Learnings document. The school appointed a substantive Principal and AP and initiated a balanced and stable workforce plan, with many staff translating from contract to on-going employment. The School continues its focus on improving both literacy and numeracy results for all students with support from school based and Regional coaches in line with the WMR Blueprint for School Improvement. Staff and student leadership will be developed through a range of opportunities and programs with the staff leadership expanded to include sub school managers and student 'voice' opportunities investigated. The BER grant of $2,000,000, has provided for the upgrading of teaching and learning spaces and is expected to be completed by June 2011. This school has 21 equivalent full time teaching staff: 2 principal class, 16 teachers and 5 education support staff.
