Pyramid Hill College is a rural school with a lifelong learning focus in a caring community and family environment. There are 14.6 equivalent full-time staff: 2 Principal class, 12 teachers and 2.6 Education Support Staff. It offers a comprehensive curriculum Prep- 10 and VCE offerings. The current enrolment is 90. PHC is in the Bendigo Network in the Loddon Mallee Region. The college has excellent resources - interactive whitboards in all classrooms, video conferencing and ICT. It has spacious grounds with a mix of new and refurbished buildings. There are two teaching neighbourhoods, a Leading Schools Complex with three flexible learning spaces and a new 21st Century Library/Classroom building (BER Project). The college has fully implemented the 1:1 Net book program across all year levels. Students engage in a challenging 21st century curriculum, involving leading edge technologies and innovative teaching practices. The College has three sub-schools: Junior School (Prep to Year 4), Middle School (Years 5 to 8) and Senior School (Years 9 & 10). The College values its partnership with the parent community as a vital means of building the students’ connection with the college. Data sets are used to inform teaching and learning and to support personalised learning through individual learning plans. Intervention and extension programs are used to support student learning. There is consistency of classroom practices and work expectations. Transition into Prep, Year 7 and from Year 10 to the later years is addressed through smooth, effective processes for all students.
