Our school is located at the centre of the Albert Park residential and business area. Our children are taught in the original buildings from the 1870's. This year, along with other schools, we participated in the Building Education Revolution. Whilst this created some hardship on our very small site our teachers cheerfuly managed the changes keeping the end in mind. We were fortunate in securing eight classrooms in a double storey portable format. They are environmentally sound and enable flexible teaching and learning spaces. We were able to secure our solar panels on these buidlings to further enhance sustainability.We also took an audit of our play equipment and found that it needed to be replaced or repaired. The overall end result is one that is engaging and visually attractive. We made a very hard decision in 2010. Our enrolments, despite our strict zoning controls continue to grow. We decided that the time had come to split our lunch and morning recess breaks to enable safe play. This has meant a change in timetables and a concerted effort on our behalf to keep the delightful family atmosphere that our school is noted for. Our twenty classrooms are positive and engaging. We have kept the class sizes very small. Our specialist programs encompass LOTE- Italian, the Visual and Performing Arts, Physical education and Music. This year we have two fledgling choirs. We developed very strong ties with the Australian National Academy of Music and as a result our children were exposed to classical music on a regular basis with members of the MSO.
