St Thomas the Apostle School, Blackburn, was built in 1952. Based on the teachings of Christ, our school community aspires to create a learning environment where there is a sense of belonging and purpose. This will enable our students to participate with confidence, hope and optimism in an ever-changing world. A high quality comprehensive curriculum is offered with specialist areas being library, Italian, physical education and music. Sustainability has become a major focus within the school with initiatives having an overriding impact on all areas. Extra-curricular activities such as tennis lessons, chess, instrumental music and dance are offered at lunchtimes and after school. Our school has attractive, spacious and well-equipped classrooms. Technology is a feature with interactive whiteboards and varying forms of technology support in constant use. In the area of student wellbeing, we aim to continue to improve strategies in supporting children to be safe and happy individuals. We address student wellbeing, prevention and early intervention through the Kids - 'You Can Do It' program and aim to strengthen links between home, school and community regarding student wellbeing.
