Established in 1912, Churchie is one of the pre-eminent boys' schools in the country. It is a day and boarding school of the Anglican Church of Australia and is a member of the Great Public Schools (GPS) Association. The School offers year levels from Reception (Prep) up to Year 12 for day boys and from Years 7 to 12 for boarders, with over 1750 enrolments at present. Churchie's mission is to make men of character who will lead and serve their communities through a learning environment that aids scholastic attainment, spiritual awareness, personal growth and community service. The School's model for the Making of Men encompasses a vibrant mix of dynamic pedagogy, Emotional Intelligence and Relational Learning, Informed and Reflective Practices, Dynamic and Creative Learning and Personalised Learning. A vibrant Interactive Learning program with the introduction of individual tablet PCs which create a 1:1 mobile digital learning environment,supports the delivery of a modern, exceptional education program, preparing young men for global citizenship and the challenges of tomorrow. Set on beautifully landscaped 23 hectares of grounds, only four km from the Brisbane City, the campus has world class facilities incorporating several state-of-the-art science and ICT laboratories, an astronomy observatory with GPS powered telescopes, an advanced technology centre equipped with Labvolt technology and purpose-built air-conditioned classrooms. The School's built environment is second to none with ten sports ovals, a new sports complex, new aquatic centre and new tennis centre and club house. The School also has its own state-of-the-art boathouse located on-site. An Academic Talent Development program, a Personal Development and Leadership Program in affiliation with the international Duke of Edinburgh program for Year 9, and a Social-Emotional Development Program with Outdoor Education are also available. Before and after school hours care and vacation care is also offered at the on-campus Child Care and Kindergarten Centre.
