Narembeen District High School is a high performing school situated in the Central Wheatbelt 282km due east of Perth. It provides quality academic, sporting and cultural programs to the district's 112 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Students in Year 11 & 12 can also study on-site through the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE). Narembeen has a strong and proud rural community and the school prides itself on being part of a great community and its wonderful achievements. Our School Board and P & C are highly effective and work collaboratively with the school community to ensure we best serve the students. We are in the enviable position of having a staff of highly experienced teachers from K - 10. Having qualified and highly effective high school teachers in all areas, including those areas of Science, Mathematics and Design & Technology, where a shortage exists, ensures our students are well prepared for their senior schooling. The school has, and will continue to maintain, a Gifted and Talented program for Year 1 - 6 students. We have elective programs, taken by specialist teachers, available to our Year 7 - 10 students in Design & Technology; Art; Drama; Physical Recreation; Foods; Textiles; Dance and Photography. Our high school program continues to produce quality academic results. The NAPLAN scores in 2010 in all tests for our Year 9 cohort are testament to this. In 2011 our Year 7 cohort will become part of our high school, making the transition a year earlier than in the past. Our 7 - 10 program will mirror the middle schools of the private system and allow our students to gain valuable skills and knowledge from specialist teachers.
