Perth College was first founded in 1902 by women for women, and after 109 years of providing an excellent education the School has an enrolment of 1100 students between Kindergarten and Year 12, including 110 Boarders from Year 7 onwards, all from rural Western Australia. The School’s Vision of ‘Perth College girls: Remarkable women’, is evidenced through generations of PC girls making their mark within the community. From humble beginnings, Perth College students were among the early graduates from UWA. In more recent times our Leavers are undertaking education at prestigious institutions worldwide including Oxford and Cambridge. The School Vision is supported through its Mission: Perth College, an Anglican school, provides an academic and personal learning community enabling girls to make a difference; and the School’s Values: A Perth College girl is Capable, Courageous, and Caring. Perth College has a strong academic focus, but also offers a holistic education, focusing on a strong progression in visual and performing arts, sport and community service. An emphasis on social justice through experiential learning means girls can choose to visit the Solomon Islands and Cambodia, where they sleep, eat and work with children in developing countries. Experiential learning is a focus in the Outdoor Education programme too, where the girls develop life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication and trust. Our teachers are leaders in their field, and through their trialing and implementation of the New Courses of Study and Australian Curriculum, are always ready to adapt to the ever changing education environment. While they are experts in their relevant fields, more importantly they are passionate teachers who genuinely care about their students and develop strong positive relationships to enable the girls to achieve their personal best.
