Our school is an active learning community. We strive to provide a quality education for our students. Our core school values underpin our teaching and learning programs. Each child is encouraged to develop to their fullest potential, while having respect for the rights of other children. We have a strong commitment to making provision for individual differences. In 2010, the school has 23.8 equivalent full-time staff: 1 principal ,1 assistant principal, 18.3 teachers and 3.5 education support staff and has 341students in 14 classes. Specialist teaching areas are Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, LOTE-Indonesian and Literacy support. Students have access to comprehensive ICT facilities. Lilydale West continues to promote environmentally sustainable practices with innovative programs operating on a daily basis. We endeavour to provide the best facilitiespossilbe for our students. We have installed new shade sail areas and have created a large indoor space for a variety of activities. Buiding has commenced on a multipurpose centre which will house a meeting room, foyer, canteen, art room, gym and storage areas. This is due for completion in mid 2011.
