Duval High School is a proud comprehensive Public High School located in Armidale in the New England region of New South Wales. The school was established in 1974 and has a current enrolment of around 750, of which 8% are Aboriginal students. Duval High School has an ongoing focus on excellence and achievement in academic, cultural, sporting and citizenship areas. Many of our current and past students have represented New South Wales and Australia in a range of sports, attended NIDAand the Conservatorium of Music and gained academic scholarships for University studies. We seek to ensure a quality educational program which caters for the learning needs of every student and encourages them to focus on achieving their potential, concern for others and the cooperative pursuit of excellence. The diverse curriculum, effective suite of welfare programs and a wide range of cultural and sporting opportunities support the school goal of developing well-rounded future citizens. Duval High School incorporates a Selective Class in Year 7, which will be expanded into Year 8 in 2011 and into subsequent years in the future. The school also has close ties with the University of New England (as well as a wide variety of community groups and organisations within the city), and boasts a very active and supportive P&C.
