Tacoma PS is situated on the Central Coast of NSW and lies within the Hunter/Central Coast Region. With an enrolment of around 150 students our school structure supports seven parallel classes from K to 6 and an experienced teaching and support staff of 19. A strong student welfare program underpins our curriculum focus on Literacy, Numeracy, Teacher Quality and Student Engagement. Our students have a strong voice in the school's governance via a dynamic Student Representative Council and an involved Student Leadership Team. An extensive range of programs and activities are offered to our students with access to programs and activities such as before and after school care, an active after-school sports program, access to our Mentor-In-Residence program, support from our Fresh Start transition program and the provision of up-to-date Interactive Whiteboard Technology in all classrooms. Our student Sporting and Dance programs will benefit from a purpose- built on-site 14 square multi-purpose hall due for completion in 2010. The phrase 'Your community school' provides an accurate summation of the close interaction that occurs between the community and the school.
