Parent participation is strong and is demonstrated through support of curriculum committees and in parent helper, fundraising and decision-making areas. Our school has a focus on literacy and mathematics with the aim being to ensure the best outcomes for all students. Science and technology also provide opportunities for knowledge and skill growth, and creative and performing arts offer opportunities in dance groups, choirs and the music. Sport and fitness programs are provided for all grades and personal development, health, leadership and student welfare programs complete a comprehensive program designed to develop the whole child. Blackwell school is also an active member of a wider learning community STEPS -St Clair Erskine Park Schools -which involves both local high schools as well as the four other local primary schools in the St Clair area.
