Manangatang P-12 College is a member of the Mallee Network of schools within the Loddon Mallee Region. Our 139 students are drawn from an area of approximately 4,000 square kilometres. We have a tradition of high academic achievement and high satisfaction levels from parents and students. Student Learning is supported by an experienced staff with a focus on high expectations. This school has 19.9 equivalent full-time staff: 2 Principal class, 13.95 Teachers and 3.95 Education Support staff. Students are challenged to set meaningful goals and these are revisited on a regular basis. Attendance strategies have been a high priority in recent years because excellent attendance is known to improve student outcomes. Participation rates are high. Student Engagement and Wellbeing is underpinned by a set of values developed in 2007. These are Acceptance, Celebration, Commitment, Honesty, Persistence, Respect and Responsibility. During 2010, as part of the School Review process, the school community revamped these values in preparation for 2011 and beyond. All P-6 teachers and students also work within the You Can Do It framework. In recent years, teacher professional learning has been a major focus. Learning teams have improved the capacity of all teachers to implement enhanced teaching strategies, consistent with the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development's Blueprint initiatives.
