At Echuca College ‘Diversity Our Strength’ reflects the value we place on every students’ learning and the contribution every student makes to our College. Our motto also reflects the comprehensive and innovative curriculum that is provided for all students, allowing them to pursue pathways into further study, apprenticeships and employment. Echuca College has a bright future. This is a view that would be shared by the vast majority of College staff, a high proportion of the students, many of the parents and many in the community. The challenge of the next Strategic Plan is to have more of these stakeholders with very high perceptions of the College across all its dimensions. There is an emerging positive shift in relation to VCE performance that should sustain and develop over the next Strategic Plan because of the strength of thinking and action now in place. There is a sense of future higher performance in the later years as the coaching, peer observation, extensive analysis of student needs and related support, higher expectations of staff, and improved climate for students, as reflected in their survey data, generates improved outcomes. This College has an EFT of 4 PCOs, 65 teachers and 23 ESS Staff. The focus of the next Strategic Plan will be on improved literacy and numeracy outcomes in 7-10, improved VCE results, a significant reduction in student absenteeism and greater student connectedness reflected in positive ATS survey. In 2011 the College moves further into the future with the introduction of student Notebook computers for all students at Year 7 and 8.
