Our vision is to develop a community of lifelong learners in a safe and supportive environment. Nathalia Secondary College is a single campus co-educational secondary college in the Hume Region, approximately 200 kilometres north of Melbourne. The students enrolled at the college are mainly drawn from Nathalia and the surrounding area. The school has a student population of 110. Our numeracy and literacy program has students in Years 7 and 8 starting each day with 25 minute literacy and numeracy activities. These activities focus on the needs of small groups of students. These activities take place in addition to the regular Maths and English lessons. A comprehensive range of alternative learning pathways are offered in VET and VCAL while maintaining a broad mainstream focus on the VCE. A number of VCE studies operate in partnership with the adjacent catholic school. Nathalia Secondary College is very much a community school. There is a strong emphasis on working in partnership with students and their families to provide the best possible educational outcomes for each student. In light of this one of the things we most value is the development of good working relationships with all members of our community. We make every endeavour to ensure that we are supportive, tolerant, and caring. We develop and maintain strong relationships with many community groups. The College has gone through a period of change and development with, among other things, the introduction of a vertical home group system, development of the Year 7 to Year 10 curriculum, and renovation of facilities. This is an exciting time for the College with many opportunities to challenge oneself in a dynamic learning environment.
