At Auburn South we seek to develop students who are well balanced, with personal skills and a highly developed capacity to inquire, to challenge and to create. Innovative programs such as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years (IB-PYP) and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden scheme help teachers, parents and students to focus on building the skills and knowledge needed to live as responsible citizens in a complex global community. The school draws its students from families who have high expectations of the school and provide strong support both materially and through participation in school programs. Classrooms are well equipped with Information and Communication Technologies which support the integrated curriculum and specialist programs of Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Mandarin. Year 5 and 6 students participate in a classroom laptop program. Support programs for students include Reading Recovery, a Small Group Intervention Program and the extension Programs for Individual Enrichment (PIE). In light of the school's strong culture of continuous improvement, we continue to devise and implement strategies to achieve even higher outcomes in the core areas of literacy and numeracy across the school. The school has maintained steady enrolment figures over the past ten years and currently caters for 539 students.
