At Brahma Lodge Primary School, where we have approximately 200 students, we seek unity by focusing on respect, responsibility and relationships. Unity enables the members of our school community to enjoy learning, to accept themselves and others, and to work together to achieve common goals. We model and teach respect and responsibility for ourselves and others, and teach relationships that promote well-being. Our priorities are literacy, numeracy and student well-being. We focus on the early detection and correction of learning difficulties and offer individual and small group literacy programs for students who require additional support. We also offer additional support to students with learning difficulties and students from LOTE (language other than English) backgrounds and Aboriginal students. We offer a daily literacy block in all classrooms, with two adults to support student learning. The school has specialist teachers in the areas of music, and design and technology. Opportunities exist for our students to take on leadership roles within the community.
