Located in residential, oceanside City Beach, Kapinara takes its name from two Aboriginal words; 'Kap' meaning water and 'inara' meaning 'over there'. While the student population draws primarily from the suburbs of City Beach and Wembley Downs, Kapinara also attracts international students creating a diverse cultural strength. A highly successful Leadership program operates Yr 4 -7, creating a dynamic and responsible student body. Kapinara enjoys considerable success in academic pursuits with the school performing well above National and State standards in external assessments. Quality learning programs are offered to all students, including extension programs to challenge potential and additional support programs where required. Significant focus is placed on developing foundations of learning in the early years. Kapinara has a proud reputation in sport and the Arts. Additional instruction in swimming, athletics, football and netball is offered. A specialist instrumental strings program runs Yr 3 -7, along with an orchestra and individual boys and girls choir.
