Cobargo Public School is located in the village of Cobargo on the NSW Far South Coast. The school has a teaching principal, assistant principal and four experienced classroom teachers. Approximately 10% of students come from Aboriginal backgrounds. The local community is very supportive of the school. Special programs offered by the school include: Reading Recovery for students in Year One, a Student Parliament for primary aged students, public speaking, Positive Behaviours For Success, a comprehensive sport program for primary aged students, reading tutor programs, Infants Talking and Listening program and a variety of creative and performing arts opportunities. Cobargo School is also supported by the Country Areas Program, a Commonwealth Government program to support student learning outcomes in isolated rural areas. Cobargo School has recently benefited from infrastructure upgrades funded by the NSW Department of Education. The upgrades have provided the school with a very appealing learning environment.
