Syndal South Primary School aims to educate the whole child, with the teaching and learning program being our focus. We strive to develop curious, confident and collaborative learners. The school prides itself on being able to offer rich and stimulating learning experiences for all students through a daily program based on student need and research based educational strategies. This is supported by significant specialist and extra curricula programs. The school has a commitment to the learning of all students, we work to develop differentiated programs and individual learning plans to support students with specific needs. Our focus from 2012 will be on differentiated learning for all students and how we build this into our current learning environments. We maintain a community spirit where staff, students and parents work together with a clear sense of purpose to develop self esteem, tolerance and respect for others. Parents are an important part of our community and are actively encouraged to participate and support the school. We develop a safe, caring and friendly environment, we work to celebrate success and build on student learning at every opportunity. We emphasise student connectedness to each other, staff and those within the community. We develop solid Literacy, Numeracy and Inquiry skills in all students, building expertise in research, communication and thinking. Students are viewed as independent learners who take action and use their learning to support each other, making a difference in the local and wider community. The school has a reputation for nurturing socially competent individuals who take pride in their school and use their skills to contribute to society. We continue to focus on a range of environmental initiatives involving Prep to Year 6 students, building on our sustainable practices and linking environmental initiatives to student learning.
