Winchelsea PS is located in the township midway between Geelong and Colac on the Princes Highway. The school is enormously proud of its rich history and tradition. The buildings and grounds offer a range of resources to support the curriculum and these include creative and expansive play areas for Prep-2 and Year 3-6 students, a full sized gymnasium shared with the community, a well-equipped music and performing arts room, a well resourced library, an art room and new, innovative and flexible learning spaces. We are committed to continuous improvement and achieving excellence in teaching and learning at every level. There is a strong commitment to improving our results in Literacy and Numeracy and the development and integration of ICT across the curriculum using various ICT tools and resources. Winchelsea Primary School strives to provide exciting, engaging and challenging learning programs designed to meet students' individual needs from Prep-6. There is strong partnership between parents and staff, with a high level of parent participation on school council, as classroom helpers, in student mentoring, in student-led conferences and in fundraising and social activities. In 2010 there were 142 students enrolled in 7 grades. We all enjoy and prosper in an attractive, safe and stimulating learning environment. Our 2010 Workforce composition includes 1 Principal, 9 teachers, 1 SSSO, 1 Welfare Officer, 1 Literacy Coach.
