Our students go about the exciting task of growing and learning together in a supportive school community. The student population at census was 342. The school has 21.2.equivalent full time staff including 2 Principal Class leaders, 19.2 teachers and 8.57 Education Support Staff. Student learning groups are organised into 4 neighbourhoods, each neighbourhood team plans and develops curriculum. Learning pathways in Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education and our Sustainable Garden engage all students. Positive relationships are important to our school with four core values identified- being your best, teamwork, responsibility and respect. The school values its partnership with the local community and promotes a community counts attitude in all that it does. Our new gym facility will extend physical education opportunities and community links. We have high expectations for our students and a "WE CARE" approach to learning through Challenge, Assessment, Response and being Explicit. Our focus on literacy and numeracy is supported through in - school coaching, where staff work side by side to embed best practice teaching and learning in all classrooms. Student relationships are enhanced by the implementation of the Restorative Practice approach. Transition into prep, to year 7 and across each neighbourhood is addressed in a planned manner. The school is committed to the use of learning technologies including netbooks. Strategic Partnership funding will continue to enhance the school's capacity in literacy and numeracy.
