Established in 1815, Moresby State School is a multigrade co-educational state school situated south of Innisfail. All students from prep to year 7 work together as a whole group. Our philosophy is to focus on the individual nature of every learner. We recognise that all students have their own learning journeys and need curriculum and pedagogies tailored to equip them for the future. We aim to meet the needs of students by maintaining best practices in Literacy and Numeracy teaching and learning, by offering innovative approaches to develop skills and a desire for life long learning, and by developing programs based on student needs and interests. Education is neither confined to, nor completed in the classroom. The syllabuses are delivered primarily as integrated units of study. Student progress is mapped, programs then developed to build upon their knowledge. The school is supported by 2 teacher Aides, specialist teachers for H.P.E, music, LOTE, library, Instrumental music, Learning support teacher and guidance Officer. Students and parents are satisfied that this is a good school. Our 'open-door' policy allows parents to spend time at school for any of our activities.
