Ararat Primary School is an inviting, inclusive and vibrant school offering a well balanced education. We focus on Literacy and Numeracy and are renowned for our Performing and Visual Arts; Cultural programs and Reggio inspired Program from Prep-4. Our extensive Health and Physical Education program is offered at all levels, as is Music, Chinese, Art and Circus. Students also attend regular Oral Language and ICT classes. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular sessions designed to maximise their engagement in school life including Junior Choir; Senior Choir; Circus; Piano; Recorder; Band and Annual Production, along with a range of separate and specific activities for boys and girls. We have embraced the use of technology throughout the curriculum and across all year levels. Students have access to a broad variety of hardware (Netbooks, desktop computers, cameras etc) and staff support digital learning through the use of interactive whiteboards in all classrooms. Students regularly access the Ultranet and use a variety of EduSTAR software and tools to enhance thinking and learning. Our focus at all times is to create high quality learning opportunities, personalise programs to address individual student learning needs and maximise student achievement, all with a sense of building home, school and community partnerships. This school has 23 equivalent full time staff; 2 Principal class; 16 teachers and 6 education support staff.
