Mansfield PS delivers a comprehensive, challenging and inclusive learning program to all 266 students. Our school develops caring, confident individuals who have skills and positive attitudes to reach their personal potential and be lifelong learners. Our core value of RESPECT is reflected by our three whole school rules respect for self; respect for others and; respect for property and environmeMnt. The school is located in the rural township of Mansfield and close to the centre of town and surrounded by Shire Council facilities. 12 composite classes work in 3 Department teams that are well supported by intervention and extension programs, support staff and resources. The school has 24 staff: Principal, Assistant Principal, 15 teachers and 7 Education Support Staff. Mansfield PS has achieved well in the school performance summary, except Year 3 Naplan in reading and numeracy. Peer coaching in literacy and numeracy ensures staff focus on precise, personalised learning to provide a clear understanding of students' learning levels and strategies to take them to the next level. Mansfield Primary has an all year round sport and fitness program which includes swimming, athletics and snow sports programs.The arts program involves 2 specialists, singing group and student orchestra. ICT is embedded across curriculum areas with interactive whiteboards, flip cameras, desk tops and laptops in all classrooms. Our school provides a stimulating, welcoming environment with modern facilities including student vegetable gardens, outdoor learning areas, large all weather shelter and hall.
