At Forest Street Primary School we aim to develop learners who can communicate, problem solve and take risks and responsibility for their learning, reflecting on and transferring their learning in different situations. We support students in becoming capable of forming meaningful relationships, demonstrating resilience, persistence and optimism and having high self esteem enabling them to make positive choices. The values which form the basis of the actions for our school community are respect, responsibility and working together. We aim to provide a seamless educational experience with a focus on developing the whole child who can take responsibility for building their knowledge, skills and abilities and applying these in a variety of ways and settings. We are very proud of our new building and value the opportunities and possibilities this will provide in approaches for teaching and learning that best embrace the 21st century. Our programs are supported by various technology including interactive whiteboards in all classrooms, data projectors, cameras, a range of desktop, notebook and ipad computers. Our staff and students are enthusiastic about making effective use of our technology resources including the Ultranet. This school has equivalent full-time staff: 2 Principal class, 22 teachers 16 Education Support Staff. The Ballarat Deaf facility supports deaf and hearing impaired students in all areas of the curriculum supported by specialist Teachers of the Deaf.
