Wonthaggi Primary School is a member of the South Gippsland Education Network and is recognised in the community as having a nurturing, caring family atmosphere where parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate in their children’s education. Aspects of school excellence include our endeavour and pursuit of excellence in Literacy and Numeracy; a pursuit of excellence in the development of Social Skills and Student Welfare & Well Being of our students; in conjunction with the high level of community involvement and developing community partnerships in our school. The school believes in effective and honest communication processes, where students and parents feel that their opinions and concerns will receive the attention they deserve. Our mission is to be a highly effective school in the Wonthaggi community. We value a warm and caring environment where students develop to the best of their potential academically, socially, physically and emotionally. We value each student and encourage them to develop their confidence, self-esteem and a belief in their own ability to learn; we value parent and community and we value school community members becoming lifelong learners. Our workforce composition comprises of 23 equivalent full time staff, 2 Principal Class Officers, 15 teachers and 8 Education Support Officers.
