Established in 1979, Mandama Primary School is a dynamic and exciting school in the expanding Geelong suburbs of Grovedale and Waurn Ponds area. The school caters for children from Prep to Year 6, with an enrolment of over 530 students in 23 classrooms. Our mission is to develop positive interaction and relationships between students, staff and the community. We strive towards the healthy development of every child so that each has the knowledge, skills and resiliency to be successful in a rapidly changing world. The school developed a new Strategic Plan in 2010 after being actively involved in an Extended Diagnostic Review conducted by an external reviewer. This new plan gives future directions and priorities to meet the learning and teaching needs of the school. We have a strong commitment to ICT, with extensive resources including interactive whiteboards in every classroom, a specialised ICT room, class sets of personal computers and netbooks as well as our own school intranet. Staff numbers totalled 50 staff represented by the following effective full-time allocations - 2 Principal Class officers, 27.7 effective full-time teachers and 10.2 Educational Support Staff. Nurturing the well-being of students and staff is also a priority. Mandama supports students with special needs and provides a range of services to support students such as before and after school care, chaplaincy support and Kids Hope.
