East Butler Primary School is located around 40km north of Perth's CBD in the suburb of Butler, a rapidly developing community that because of excellent facilities is a very attractive option for young families. East Butler PS opened in February 2007 with the enrolment trend directly reflecting the suburb's growth. East Butler Primary School offers an excellent range of teaching and learning programs. Classroom teaching practices are founded upon the principles of instructional intelligence, while First Steps strategies are used throughout the school to support literacy and numeracy. Specialist teachers are in the learning areas of LOTE (French), Science and Physical Education. Our school has a strong and proud focus on values and supporting a high standard in student behaviour. This is achieved through the implementation of the acclaimed Friendly Schools and Families program. A close community partnership has been established. For example, a unique feature of our school is a weather station that directly monitors conditions and controls watering in neighbouring housing estates.
