Flinders Park Primary School is situated in the City of Albany, 400 kilometres south of Perth. The school opened in 1988 and is on the eastern edge of Albany. We draw our student enrolment from Bayonet Head and Lower King areas, with a number of students from the adjacent rural areas of Takenup and Nanarup. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 7 on site. The nearby Lower King Community Kindergarten falls under the school's umbrella and caters for up to 40 kindergarten students. We have a diverse range of families in terms of socio/economic status, life style and employment positions. Over the past few years a broader range of nationalities and cultures have been welcomed into our school. Our school has a stable, professional and experienced staff who work hard at providing quality teaching and learning programs, inclusive of all students. Whole school literacy and numeracy plans are supporting the strong student performance in numeracy and literacy and shaping the teaching and learning programs across the school. Our school's identity is shaped by strong specialist teacher programs consisting of visual arts, music, physical education and language (Italian). An outstanding choir program, instrumental music and sustainable environmental education (school garden, rainwater collection and solar energy) further enrich learning opportunities for students.
