Port Kennedy Primary School opened in 1996 to serve a rapidly growing coastal suburb located within the City of Rockingham, 55 kilometres south of Perth. Facilities consist of: permanent classrooms in three clusters and transportable classrooms music room, art room and kiln library resource centre and computer lab undercover area, canteen and sports store administration building staff amenities service block The school is air-conditioned throughout. Computers with internet access are available in all classes and work areas. The school has well maintained gardens, play areas and adventure equipment, vegetable garden and natural bush areas. There are 2 basketball/tennis courts. The large oval is a dual-use facility managed with the city. The school is well resourced to offer a broad, inclusive curriculum based on literacy and numeracy. Teachers provide meaningful learning experiences with strategies and practices to cater for individuals and groups. Targets for achievement are realistic yet challenging. Social skills and positive school-community relationships are encouraged. The School Council ensures that directions are consistent with Education Department policies.
