Beckenham Primary School is located 12 km from Perth, WA. We were awarded Independent Public School status in 2011. The school has approximately 475 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, from Kindergarten to Year 7. The school is set in spacious grounds and is easily accessible by public transport. We are proud of the history of the school, which was built in 1912. The school has a community atmosphere, with many of the current parent group having attended the school as students. Beckenham is a Tribes Learning Community. Our students are encouraged to work together collaboratively and value the opinions and differences of others. The school priorities are Numeracy, Literacy, Active Citizenship and Physical Education. The Physical Education program is based on Bluearth principles and includes structured after school activities. We are a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden school. Students grow their own produce in our extensive vegetable garden and attend cooking lessons in our purpose built kitchen. Our school facilities have recently been enhanced with a new Library, Art/Craft and Science facility. We also have three new classrooms that our students enjoy. Our staff is a blend of experienced and beginning teachers, who all embrace technology in their teaching. We have a Student Representative Council that has been recognised at a state and national level.
