Osborne Primary School opened in 1903 with an enrolment of 17 students. The school celebrated its centenary in 2003 with a wide range of activities embracing past and present students and community members. Proximity to the Perth CBD and easy access to the freeway is a distinct advantage to those working in, or close to, the city. The school has a full range of facilities, including a new Library Resource Centre, and a beautifully renovated Kindergarten, which many years ago served as the 'Headmaster's House'. The current enrolment is 170, from Kindergarten to Year 7. Student numbers are expected to steadily increase over coming years to reach approximately 250. The school is staffed by enthusiastic, experienced teachers, and includes specialist Early Childhood Teachers for both Kindergarten and Pre Primary, and a specialist English as a Second Language Teacher. Multi culturalism is clearly evident throughout our school population, and is both promoted and celebrated. Learning opportunities for all students encourage achievement of optimum potential in a caring environment that respects the rights of all. The size of the school allows for a 'family' atmosphere....one greatly appreciated by the entire school community. Teachers are well equipped to provide quality instruction in ICT in this fast changing aspect of education. In every classroom staff and students make use of Smartboards (Interactive Whiteboards). Other specialist areas are Art, Music and Physical Education. The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) program at Osborne is recognised as being first class, with students having access to computers both in a laboratory and in classrooms. All computers are networked. Osborne Primary School Parents and Citizen's Association operates in conjunction with the school. The School Council has representatives from both the teaching staff and parent body.
