Taabinga State School is one of two state primary schools in Kingaroy and was established in 1897. Our Prep to Year 7 curriculum focuses on development of fundamental skills of literacy and numeracy through learning experiences based on Essential Learnings. Our students participate in physical education, music, German and Japanese intercultural studies. Our special needs students are integrated and supported in classrooms. Inclusive practices to support a 'deaf culture' within the school is progressing. Our students participate in a range of extra-curricula activities - choir, eisteddfod, and instrumental music, Opti-Minds, speaking competition, school and community events. Our Active After Schools program operates at the school twice weekly for students. Our Chaplaincy program focuses on pastoral care for all students, parents and staff. The chaplain works in collaboration with other support staff, teachers and administration within classrooms and the playground. Parent helpers are encouraged in all classrooms while the school Parents and Citizens tuckshop and Music Support Group also offer an opportunity for parents to support the school.
