Warrenheip Primary School is situated on attractive grounds upon a site that it has occupied since 1875. The school is located approximately 8 kilometres east of central Ballarat in a small community, that retains a rural air in spite of its proximity to this major urban centre. The current pupil population, predominately comes from adjacent areas and with no bus service, is dependent upon the family car for travel to and from. The past few years have seen the injection of substantial amounts of additional funding into the school budget structure, which has enabled the School Council to oversee some major improvements to the tone and quality of the school infrastructure. This has included the refurbishment of the historic main building - painting and carpets, plus upgrades to ITC, furniture, playgrounds and assorted classroom resources. The school teaching staff, with the co-operation of the School Council, have expended considerable energy and finances into the restructure of the school's literacy and numeracy programs. Warrenheip Primary School now has a genuine 'whole school' approach to these integral elements of each child's education. The school has developed an environment that breaks free of rigid grade structures and enables each child to work in more appropriate levels within a smooth flowing and sequential structure. The school community is proud of its achievements and looks forward to the future with confidence, both in the integrity of its programs and the quality of its resources.
