Marlo Primary School is focussed on providing a rich and supportive learning environment that challenges and supports students academically, builds their capacity as learners, and assists them to become effective community members. Our Motto is 'Learning Together, Growing Together'. We are a small rural school which comprises two composite classes; a P-2 and a 3-6. Our class sizes are currently between 16-18 students and we have a teacher and an education support staff member with each class to assist students with their learning. Through the careful analysis of assessment data we work towards providing a differentiated program through individual, small group and whole class instruction according to indentified needs. Being a small school, we pride ourselves on our supportive family-like culture. We often receive feedback on how well students at Marlo support one another. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy which we see as foundational for our students' success. Our emphasis for professional learning is on developing our staff expertise in these two areas supported by targetted professional development in Interdisciplinary and Personal and Social Learning. We have a strong Arts based program, a comprehensive Physical Education program and have this year commenced the You Can do It Social Emotional Resilience program. Our School Performance Summary indicates that Marlo is achieving similar results to like schools and the the area of Grade 3 reading is where we are achieving at a higher level due to our Reading strategy program and other initiatives.
