Montmorency Primary School is a unique, small school set near the heart of Montmorency Shopping Village. Our Mission Statement “To provide a safe, supportive and positive environment embodying quality learning opportunities in order to maximise academic, social and community potential” is supported by our core values "Learning, Friendship, Safety and Respect" which underpin our goal of “Preparation for Life”. Our Strategic Plan promotes the teaching of skills and values, within a quality-driven institution, in tune with the emerging requirements of the third millennium. Our school has recently been renovated and the current Victorian State Government has confirmed funding for a $4 million dollar upgrade as part of their first budget - Montmorency Primary is here to stay! We have earned a reputation for connectedness, caring for others, developing individuals and linking learning to hands-on, engaging experiences. In 2011 MPS has expanded to 5 Full Time teaching staff, our Principal and 4.8 EFT Educational Support Staff to provide classroom assistance. Teachers are experienced and enthusiastic and are backed up by an energised and supportive community . We are assisted by quality volunteers in order to lead engaged, individualised learning and personal development. The school has increased community use of its facilities and has forged links with growers groups and environmental groups in order to create a welcoming, open environment reflective of sustainable practices . Regular open events such as our Farmers Market complement our inclusive environment.
