Clifton Hill Primary aims to provide opportunities for all students to learn to the best of their ability and become active participants in the wider society by offering an academically challenging curriculum within a caring school community. We try to support the learning, personal growth and wellbeing of students and teachers and ensure parents are informed and involved. Approximately 540 students attend the school with waiting lists at all year levels. Academic results are strong. Specialist classes are offered in Art, Music, Physical Education, Performing Arts, Mandarin and French. Chess, drumming, aerobics, choir, a student newspaper, soccer squad, an environmental team and book club are provided on an elective basis at lunch times. A Bike Education program began last year and interested Grade 6 students participate in the Great Victorian Bike Ride. The school has a thriving Junior School Council and Ride2School team. A $3,000,000 development for a new multi-purpose hall, music room and library commenced in September 2010 with a May 2011 completion date. Grounds have been progressively developed over the past eight years. It is anticipated we will continue to experience strong enrolments, produce excellent academic outcomes and enjoy the support of an active parent community. The school has 32.6 equivalent full time teaching staff comprising 3 Principal Class officers and 5 leading teachers. Additionally the school has 11 Integration Aides, 2 Administrative staff and a Canteen Manager.
