Our School is an Independent, Anglican, Co-educational, Kindergarten to Year 12, Day & Boarding School located in a beautiful, semi-rural area in the South West of WA. Our Mission is to provide excellence in all-round education within a unique environment by: promoting best practice in pastoral, academic and co-curricular programmes; creating a caring, stimulating, structured and Christian setting; and encouraging students to develop their self-esteem and achieve their potential. The School’s open enrolment policy is not academically selective and only a few academic scholarships are offered. The School caters for a wide range of academic abilities, including students with Special Educational Needs who need either Support or Challenge & Extension programmes. A sense of community and purpose pervades the School, as students, staff and parents work together to ensure that students have the opportunity to achieve their potential. Our pastoral programme, based on a strong House system, is essential in this process. The academic ability of a Year group can vary considerably from year to year. This is well illustrated by our results for Year 3, 2010 compared to Year 3, 2011. In both years the Year group expanded from one class in Year 2 to two classes in Year 3. New enrolments into Year 3, 2010 were often students needing help with literacy and numeracy, a process which takes time to accomplish, whereas this was not so frequently the case in Year 3, 2011. We are pleased that our NAPLAN results show progressive improvement from Year 3 to Year 9. We want our students to become active global citizens, and our membership of the Round Square Association (RSA) of about 90 schools worldwide, based on Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service, is the vital framework in which this is nourished.
