The Margaret River Montessori School opened in 1993. The school is located just a five minute walk from the town centre. Within the school site we are blessed with a wetland area which provides a wonderful environmental and educational resource for both our students and the wider community. The students monitor this area as part of their environmental studies. Surrounded by native bush land and gardens and with open spaces in addition to quiet peaceful areas the school provides a high quality Montessori education for 3 to 12 year olds. The Margaret River Montessori School respects the individual developmental needs of the child. Students are encouraged to develop independence in and responsibility for their own learning and are guided and challenged to achieve in all areas of the curriculum. A love of learning, a respect for others and for their environment is promoted. The School is actively involved in community service and students participate in a variety of programs. The school offers specially trained teachers with a good knowledge of the Curriculum Framework to which the Schools Montessori Curriculum adheres. Specialist teachers take the subjects of Music, LOTE (Japanese) and Art.
