At Leeming Primary we recognise the need for a 'balance' in our programs and have a focus on the development of good social-emotional literacy as well as English literacy and numeracy. We have a whole school approach to all three balanced with the arts and sport. Our music specialist provides a fundamental music program for years 1-7 students. The School of Instrumental Music (SIM) offers tuition in strings. The school caters for the students needs with programs for those below year level and those highly capable. Focusing on the needs of the 21st century, all classes have interactive whiteboards, are connected to a school network and to the Internet to enhance learning. Through KidsMatter we have a whole school approach to developing good mental health and with active involvement of the Parents & Citizens Association and School Council, we reach out to our parents and the community. Our Leeming community is in the Metropolitan Area, eighteen kilometers from Perth centre. The school caters for four year olds through to thirteen year old students from a middle class background. The local Leeming Senior High School which is 250m away.
