Woodside Primary is a rural school of 41 students with a diverse parent demographic. A minority of families are farmers. Many families have moved to the area in the past ten years as sea/tree change choices. All families value and support their children's education. There is a strong partnership between parents and staff. Children attend school regularly and bring many life experiences to their learning. Woodside Primary has dedicated, caring and effective teaching staff. Each staff member teaches one domain across all year levels. This ensures all domains are taught competently with all staff having an intimate knowledge of each child. Woodside Primary prides itself on being an integral part of the Woodside and wider community. Children participate in a wide range of community events, such as Tarra Festival and the Yarram Eisteddfod. A wide range of extra curricula activities are conducted. The majority of children in Year 4, 5 and 6 learn an instrument, with our senior students forming our school rock band. Students form strong connections to each other and the school as indicated in our attitudes to school survey. In 2011, a major building program will see Woodside with a new school that includes three classrooms, a large project space, withdrawal room and an administration area
