MY SCHOOL WEBSITE DESCRIPTION Walliston Primary School is a large primary school located in an attractive bushland setting in the hills 25 kilometres east of the city of Perth. A large amount of retained natural bush and native shrubs enhance the spacious school grounds, making Walliston a pleasant place in which to learn and work. In 2010, a new Covered Assembly Area, Art Room, Music Room and Library Resource Centre have been added, providing brand new resources and an enhanced learning environment for the students. Opened in 1970, the school has built a reputation for care, equity and excellence, with traditions forming an important part of the school's culture. Walliston offers a comprehensive and inclusive Kindergarten (4yo) to Year 7 (12yo) program with 330 students working in partnership with the family and school community, promoting the development of an independent, responsible and confident learner. Staff morale is high, with experienced and stable staff members providing a comprehensive and challenging set of learning programs for the students. A stable parent community, represented by a strong and positive P&C, is supportive and involved, whilst reflecting a diverse range of occupations and backgrounds. The School Council is an active participant in school planning and reviews, meeting regularly throughout the year. The Arts and Physical Education program are both strong features of the school.
