Bundaberg West State School strives to provide a safe, stable and educationally stimulating environment in which all children in our care can maximise their potential to become positive citizens in a democratic society. Bundaberg West State School is a Prep to Yr7 co-educational inner- city school with a student population of around 300 engaged in programmes offered in a variety of settings. A broad range of socio-economic, cultural and educational factors contribute to the complexities of the school, but many of the difficulties often associated with these issues are countered by the generally supportive attitude of our community towards our school and education, and by the excellent staff. The school has a history of inclusive practice. Many of our students identify as being indigenous, many are identified as being students with disabilities and we have a high transience rate. Strong traditions and values infuse every aspect of the school's endeavours, linking it to its history and helping to guide its future.
