St Brendan's Catholic Primary School, established in 1929, is a co-educational P-7 school located in the inner south western suburb of Moorooka, home to a very culturally and linguistically diverse community and the background of the approximately 154 students reflects the diversity of the local area . The school was established by the Sisters of St Joseph and the vision and mission still incorporates the core values of this Religious Order of women. We educate students as lifelong learners who will be empowered to shape and enrich our changing world by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our school community emphasises inclusion and the realisation of each person's potential. We offer an inclusion program for students with intellectual impairments and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. An emphasis on literacy and numeracy achievements for all is supported by the services of English as a Second Language support teachers, a support teacher for inclusive education and a guidance counsellor. A music and physical education program for all classes supports the arts and the physical activity strand of the health and PE syllabus. Japanese is taught as a language other than English and an instrumental music program is offered as an option. Outside school hours care is provided on the premises.
