Thabeban is a relatively small school providing a comprehensive and supportive education program to a diverse range of students from Prep to Yr 7. Cultural groups include Vietnamese, Tongan and Philipino and a significant number of Aboriginal students. Thabeban has a strong music and technology focus, differentiating it from other schools. Students enjoy a range of opportunities including Junior/Senior Choir, the 'Thabeban Tones' competition choir, Instrumental Music as well as participation in the Maryborough Technology Challenge where students compete in model solar boat, push cart and robotics events. Interschool sport is offered to students in Years 4 to 7. Thabeban has a strong focus on providing a safe and supportive environment and in developing positive relationships with parents/carers. A community liaison officer and school chaplain provide support to students & families. Celebration Days are held at the end of each term to recognise the great work and behaviour of students. Thabeban participates in many community events including music and choral competitions, the ANZAC Day march and the school ANZAC Day ceremony. The Pand C Committee plays a positive role within the school.
