St Mary's is a small Catholic primary school located in Maffra. Established in 1905 by the Sisters of St Joseph, the school still maintains many Josephite traditions. Our school is set on spacious grounds with modern facilities. Our school provides an environment imbued with Christian values, where religious education programs make students knowledgeable about their faith, where academic achievement is promoted and participation in the arts, sports and community is strongly encouraged. We believe in providing an inclusive curriculum to meet the needs of all children. We recognise that we are a community working in partnership with parents, families, the wider parish and town community to promote learning for each individual. Student welfare is a high priority and we believe that we need to develop resilience amongst children through our pastoral and welfare programs. We offer a range of specialist programs including Reading Recovery, EMU (Extending Mathematics Understanding) and visual arts. Student leadership is a focus at St Mary's school with many different leadership groups operating, including the student council, peer mentors, and the environmental group.
