Wyrallah Road Public School is the largest of the six public primary schools in Lismore. It has a stable student enrolment of 520 catered for in 20 classes. The school has spacious playing fields enhanced by the recent addition of a school hall. The school offers extensive and innovative educational programs in all Key Learning areas for all students, with the emphasis being on high achievement in a safe and enjoyable environment. There is an interactive whiteboard in each classroom including the Library with all rooms in the school air-conditioned. We have a modern computer laboratory where each student K-6 has a minimum of one hour tuition per week. Our school has an outstanding reputation within the local community and enrolment is highly sought. Our academic, cultural and sporting performances are well-documented. The School's Statement of Purpose, developed through whole-school community consultation, states that 'Wyrallah Road Public School provides opportunities for quality teaching and learning relevant to the individual in a supportive environment'. The School Motto 'Growth Through Happiness' exemplifies the approach by students, staff and the community to ensure that all programs are delivered harmoniously, realistically and effectively. There is a strong partnership between our school and the local community. The whole school community expects students to do well at school, and those expectations are clearly realised by the vast majority of students at Wyrallah Road Public School. We do not attract any additional funding other than the Global allocation and our strong parent group fund-raise vigorously to provide the additional resources required to maintain our very high standards and outcomes.
