Tailem Bend Primary School is situated on the South Eastern Freeway adjacent to the River Murray which itself is a great attraction and excellent resource. A ferry links Tailem Bend with the dairying area of Jervois across the river. The Reception to Year 7 school is a vibrant part of the community that prides itself on its learning achievements and enterprising ventures that link the school with the local and wider population. We use a wide range of teaching methodologies to cater for diversity. Students are given clear expectations of tasks, their purpose and how they will be assessed. Appropriate feedback is given to inform students of performance and future learning. The school uses an ongoing assessment and reporting format. Children are taught the skills associated with a wide variety of sports during PE lessons. We send South Australian Public Schools Amateur Sports Association (SAPSASA) representatives to district competition in netball, cricket, football, tennis, golf and athletics. Our school is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program cluster site, linking with Mypolonga, Jervois and Murray Bridge North Primary Schools and Murray Bridge High School.
