St Patrick's College Townsville is a Mercy Catholic Secondary Day and Residential College, currently catering for approximately three hundred students in the secondary years of schooling, Years 8-12. The College is located at 45 The Strand, Townsville, North Queensland, on the edge of the City Business District, overlooking Cleveland Bay. At St Patrick’s College, our mission is to promote fullness of life and nurture holistic learning in a joyful environment. We offer our students a comprehensive education enriched by our Christian values and Catholic heritage. The College strives to provide excellence in education in a caring, friendly environment, where each young woman, nurtured and shaped by the values of the Mercy ethos, is given the opportunity to achieve her full potential and to develop a passion for life and for learning. As an all-girls’ school, we provide a wonderful environment for our young women to grow with a strong sense of positive self-esteem and confidence. When the Sisters of Mercy established St Patrick’s College, they recognised the importance of providing education for girls that would enable them to assume their role in society with confidence and to be initiators of change in that society. The pioneer sisters firmly established St Patrick’s College on the values of Mercy espoused by Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. Our vision of education at St Patrick’s College is inspired by these values enshrined in the Gospels: love, service and justice; and the Mercy tradition of striving for excellence within an environment of compassion and caring for students and their families. St Patrick’s College acknowledges the vital role of parents and care-givers. At all times, we seek to work together, knowing that positive relationships are essential for success. The College is a multicultural community, accepting of all and respecting the diversity that characterizes Australian society. Students are encouraged to treat each other with respect and courtesy. Blessed..
