Slacks Creek State School has been proudly serving our community since 1873.Our school is a co-educational, state school catering for students in Prep to Year 7. Approximately 275 students attend our school and they are supported in their learning by a group of hard working and dedicated teachers and ancillary staff. Although our core business is both literacy and numeracy we believe that reading underpins all other learning. Explicit teaching of reading skills takes place in every classroom, every day at Slacks Creek State School. At our school students are treated as individuals and all learning is child centred and ability based. Our aim is to equip our students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attributes needed to contribute positively to an ever changing 21st century world. Parents are seen as partners in their child's education and are encouraged to play an active role in their learning.
